We Aren’t Going Anywhere, and Neither Should You
It’s been a difficult week. The country faced a devastating setback in this election, and Donald Trump has telegraphed how he’ll govern – surrounded by egregiously unqualified, dangerous extremists. An alleged sex offender with a history of making antisemitic remarks for Attorney General. A conspiracy theorist aligned with Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad for Director of National Intelligence. An anti-vaxxer with a brain worm as the head of Health and Human Services. A Fox and Friends Weekend contributor to run the Department of Defense. A Christian fundamentalist with no foreign policy experience as U.S. Ambassador to Israel. The list goes on.
We know this is how demagogues and dictators govern – they create chaos and confusion to the point where their dangerous agenda becomes normalized. We refuse to allow this to happen and plan to fight Trump’s agenda each and every day. JDCA is the political home for Jewish Democrats, and we are redoubling our efforts to fight Trump’s dangerous policies and take back our country. Join us by writing to your senator urging them to oppose recess appointments.

JDCA was made for this moment. When Donald Trump won in 2016, there was no national organization representing Jewish Democrats. In the immediate aftermath of neo-Nazis marching in Charlottesville in 2017, JDCA emerged to give Jewish Americans a voice in fighting Trump’s hateful and dangerous agenda. We’ve been doing it ever since, along with millions of Jewish voters across the country.
Starting in 2018, we played a key role in ensuring Democratic victories in four consecutive elections. While 2024 didn’t have the ultimate outcome we had hoped for, we’re not giving up, and neither should you. Our work is even more important as we face a Trump White House and Republican-controlled Congress. Tell us how you want to take action with JDCA to fight for our values in the months and years ahead.
SHORT SURVEY: TELL US HOW YOU WANT TO TAKE ACTION
As leading political strategist Simon Rosenberg told JDCA supporters this week at our event summarizing the election, “The Jewish Vote and What Comes Next”:
“Stay involved here. This has been a great organization. It’s got a great mission and a great group of people. But it’s also focused and clear…and you’ve been successful. And that really matters.”
WATCH: THE JEWISH VOTE AND WHAT COMES NEXT
Our goal in this election was to ensure that Jewish voters continue to support Democrats, and we succeeded. Together, we made more than 2.8 million direct voter contacts. We knocked on nearly 53,000 doors in key states. We received more than 53 million views on our ads. Our 46 campus fellows made 1.6 million direct voter contacts. More than 65,000 of you joined us for in-person and virtual programs. We raised and spent more than ever before on behalf of our endorsed candidates.
We won some important elections – Elissa Slotkin in Michigan, Jacky Rosen in Nevada, Ruben Gallego in Arizona, and Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin, who will be critical voices for Jewish values in the Senate. Jewish voters helped defend and flip House seats, including Laura Gillen in NY-4, Josh Riley in NY-19, and Tom Suozzi in NY-3. In total, we won nearly 75 percent of the races we were involved in.
In the past 12 hours, a second national poll of Jewish voters – conducted by pollster Mark Mellman on behalf of the Jewish Electorate Institute – demonstrated that 71 percent of Jewish voters supported Kamala Harris, while 26 percent supported Donald Trump. We’re proud of the role we played in maintaining overwhelming Jewish support for Democrats despite strong Republican headwinds. The Jewish vote wasn’t large enough to be decisive in the presidential election, but unlike other segments of the electorate, Jewish voters stood strong with Democrats – including Kamala Harris – thanks to our efforts. And it did make a difference in close Senate and House races.
We hope you will join us in recommitting to the work of defending our values in the Trump administration. To jumpstart that work, write to your senator opposing recess appointments and fill out our “defend your values” form so you can take action with us in the future. We’ll be in touch soon with a tailored message about next steps.
We’re proud of the community we’ve built, and we’re proud of what we accomplished in this election. While we didn’t win the White House, we’re going to keep fighting to defend our values. Thank you for your partnership, and we hope you’ll support our efforts. It will continue to make a difference.
